Five Reasons Your Business Needs A Website

Hello and Happy Monday!

As a Graphic Designer I do a lot of local print design jobs and I've began to notice that many small business owners with less than 10 employees AND many start up businesses believe that they do not need a website. Many think that their business won't benefit from having a website and that it's too expensive to keep up. In my opinion those are misconceptions about having an online presence. Whether you're selling a product or service it is very beneficial to have a website in today's time. I want to put those misconceptions to rest by giving you five reasons why your business should have a website.

1. It's ALWAYS available

The world wide web has been around for awhile now and is not going anywhere no time soon! In fact, it's only going to get better in my opinion. A website is accessible 24/7 365 days a year, current and potential customers would be able to view your website on a computer, tablet or smartphone anywhere and at any time. Once your place of business is closed for the day, your website is still open.

2. You're likely to gain more credibility

Having a website for your business, potential customers will likely be at ease when purchasing from you. Many people search the internet everyday for some type of service or product they want to buy. If your business is online and your website is well put together then most likely people are going to feel comfortable and know that your business is legit. If you're not online potential customers will turn to your competitors for that same service or product you're offering.

3. It's a way to showcase your work

If your company sells a product, an image gallery or portfolio can be included on your website or even a "How To" video would be great. If it's a service you could have a testimonial page where past customers can write about how great it was doing business with you and how your services helped them. Either way, a website lets your work shine!

4. Saves You Time!

A website can save you time when you're out and about and you run into a potential customer and you have no marketing materials (i.e. business cards, flyers, brochures, etc.) on you. You can say "Hey my website is www.__________ it has all of my information there". A website should entail what you do/selling, who you are, when and why you started that's pretty much what's in all those pretty printed marketing materials you have sitting in your office or place of business.

 5. It can create passive income for you

If you're in the business of selling a digital product or maybe even a digital service, an eCommerce store is an option along with your website. An eCommerce store is fairly easy to set up and most of them can link straight to your bank account or PayPal account. Customers can buy from you and download their digital product such as an eBook, PDF of whatever you're selling after they purchase it.

So having a website is not a scary or a terrible thing! It's actually beneficial as I stated earlier. Having a well put together and well design website will most likely put you in the running right along with your "so-called" competitors. If you don't have a website, I would be more than happy to work with you! Check out my full design services here!
